Born in Tehran, Iran in 1986, Sepideh Zamani completed her BFA in Sculpture at the Art University of Tehran. She began her artistic venture as a graphic designer, working in advertising companies. Having joined “Tehran Carnival” in 2008, an art collective of five individuals, Zamani explored the underbelly of the artworld, the alternative crowds, the spicy edge of Iranian contemporary culture. Her installations have an ebullient feel to them, inviting that “choose your own adventure” frame of mind. The budget and speed of creation are primary components of her process, which is why she keeps favouring the agility of papier mâché.
