Mohamed Khedr is an Egyptian artist with a myriad number of influences on his artistic practice. He has worked in the fields of computer graphics, interior design, product design and painting since graduating with a B.A. in Set Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Helwan University, Cairo, in 1993.
Inspired by Egyptian design history and culture, Khedr fuses different points of local inspiration with a contemporary aesthetic to produce cityscapes of Egypt’s most popular streets and iconic public statues with a technique that seems almost like that of photorealism. His still life works have veered away from representations of everyday objects to highly abstracted renditions.
Khedr is dedicated to providing artistic training to young adults while continuously seeking to develop his own work.
