Abdullah Murad

Abdullah Murad was born in Homs in 1944 and studied Fine Arts at the University of Damascus. His experimental paintings and drawings are influenced by the fauvist color palette and the abstract expressionist movement. His intricate and experimental paintings feature arabesque concepts and the inclusion of mixed media such as collages and cuts outs, that add textual layers and asymmetrical compositions. Murad’s work has been exhibited in numerous international groups and solo shows in Syria, Lebanon, France, Turkey, Bulgaria, Switzerland, the UK, and the Gulf. Several of his works have also been acquired by public and private collections including in France, Germany, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the Sharjah Museum in UAE.
